My two kids love all things dress up. On any given day, you can find my girls wearing plastic princess shoes, sparkling tiaras and dresses.

But there is one thing they love more than princesses: the park!

“Adventure World Playground, located within Cross Timbers Park, is a totally accessible playground for children of all ages and abilities. Built with the help of community volunteers in 1994, this playground was renovated and updated by the City of North Richland Hills in 2014. “The playground is a popular destination for families and school groups.”- North Richland Hills Website

North Richland Hills is not kidding when it states this is a totally accessible playground for children of all ages. This place is truly an Adventure World! There are four distinct play areas for kids and parents to explore. The largest area includes most of the large play structures geared toward kids ages 2 and up. My girls loved the bridge structure!

Holy smokes there are a bunch of swings! The builders of this playground must have kids because they knew that swings are a hot commodity. My kids would swing the whole time if I let them! These swings are much lower to the ground than an average swing, so they won’t appeal much to older kids, but they are everywhere! Two different areas are made up of swings: one is a section of only swings, and the other is a smaller amount of swings with picnic tables close by.

There are swings for little kiddos, regular swings, tire swings, two high back swings with harnesses, and a large swing multiple kids can sit or lay on. Did you catch how many times I said swings? That’s about how many swings there really are!

The fourth area, and second play-structure, is geared toward kids 5 and under. It is fantastic and accessible to younger kiddos. With slides, stairs and nice climbing areas, it is sure to be a hit! Don’t forget to try the spinning seats in the same area. Beware, they can pick up some serious speed.

Need a little lunch or snack? A shade covering protects all of the picnic tables. Don’t forget your Babyganics on-the-go Hand Sanitizer as it is cold and flu season. After you snack, feel free to take a stroll on the walking trails. Bring your stroller and Fitbit and see what birds you can find while burning off some calories. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

I will warn you: rethink any visit around 3:00 in the afternoon. This park is directly across the street from an elementary and middle school. When the bell rings, this park picks up!
