When our 3-year-old dropped her last nap, we transitioned to play time in her room because MAMA NEEDS A MINUTE. Then came the real issue: she came out of her room every 5 to 10 minutes to see if playtime was over, which obviously sent my “Mom Time” straight down the drain. We got this lovely little clock to help and it works great! The OK to Wake! Alarm Clock allows us to set a timer which lights the clock yellow when she can come out of her room. It also became very helpful when she started waking early. We just let her know to stay in her bed until the light turned green, and it worked like a charm. Just be aware: there is an actual alarm noise too. We don’t use it, but accidentally set it once. SHOCKING to say the least.
My preschool daughter is over sippy cups with straws. (No doubt they will be back in tomorrow, though). She is ready for a “real” cup like Mom and Dad! I, on the other hand, was not ready for a real cup because her sister’s love of pouring makes open cups left around the house quite a mess. Enter Munchkin Miracle Cup. This thing really is a miracle! It DOES NOT SPILL!! We take it to school, in the car, and even in my purse. There is a slight learning curve to getting liquid out, but once my daughter got it, she loved it!
Anyone out there love some Disney? My kids (ages 1 and 3) love the IDEA of Disney movies, but many of the animated movies are a little too intense to actually watch with my sensitive kids. Around Christmas, I found these books at Costco. They do a pretty good job of maintaining the storyline and introducing the characters. Keep in mind they are relatively short, so the deep storyline and character development from 2 hour movies does not happen. But my girls enjoy knowing the basic storyline, the characters names and being able to chat with their friends about The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, even though they have not seen the movie. Leave it to Costco to have a set of 30 Books for under $30!
