Summer’s Top 10 Product List

Beat the heat this summer with some of our favorite products. Each product listed is something we have, use and love. Enjoy your summer!!!!

Blue Lizard Sunscreen– Absorbent, thick and great for sensitive skin. My pediatric dermatologist recommended this for my toddler with sensitive (and super fair) skin. We use it daily and no sunburns or reactions so far. It is Paraben-Free, Fragrance-Free and Chemical Free, and even has smart bottle technology that turns blue when harmful UVA rays are present. Comes in Baby and Sensitive lines as well.

Sunburn Alert Body Stickers– My kids both get flushed in the heat. I get tired of wondering (and being asked by strangers) if they’re getting burned or are just red from the heat. I bought these stickers and now I know if it’s time to reapply their sunscreen or if they’re just hot. One sticker works all day and they actually stay on! My kids also think they’re pretty awesome because they look like temporary tattoos and “magically” change color.

Honest Bug SprayThis product has mixed reviews online but I have personally found it to work great. It smells nice, is not sticky and seems to prevent bug bites on my kids. We are outside a lot and in a wooded area. Knowing it doesn’t have any harmful chemicals makes me feel better about spraying it on my kids.

IPOW Car Safety Antiskid Hammer Seatbelt Cutter Emergency Class/Window Punch Breaker Auto Rescue Disaster Escape Life-Saving Hammer Tool- we have actually already reviewed this product here but after we saw this video on the Today Show with Rossen Reports, we felt compelled to share it again. Remember to never leave a kid in a car (even for one minute) and if you see a kid locked in a car, you might be thankful you had this on hand.

Yeti RamblerTrue story. Last July I went to the park and left my Rambler with ice and water in my car. I came back to my car an hour and a half later and the car was steaming inside as it was almost noon and therefore blazing hot outside. I could not believe it but my Rambler still had ice inside. ICE! Not just cold water but the ice had not melted. I’m hooked. They’re worth the price.

Yeti Hopper Portable CoolerSame brand as above and still as fabulous. Lots of pool/splash pad days ahead for this family and we will definitely be carrying this with us. Keeps drinks, food and even popsicles cold for MUCH longer than any other cooler I’ve ever used. Father’s Day is coming up (June 18th) so it’s something to consider for the Dad of the Year in your life, instead of a tie he’ll never wear.

Native ShoesLightweight, cute and comfortable. My kids love them and in general, they hate wearing shoes. These are great for summer because they can get wet, dirty and dry quickly.  They offer several designs (for boys and girls) and every color under the rainbow!

iPlay Baby and Toddler Reusable Swim Diaper– if you’re planning on doing swimming lessons or going to a public pool this summer, you’re going to be required to purchase a reusable swim diaper. I found these work great to keep leaks (or worse) in, come in cute designs, and are easy to get on and off with the side snaps. Save yourself some time and just go ahead and buy the 2-pack. You always need a backup!

Step2 Spill & Splash Seaway Water TableMy kids LOVE a water table. We actually have ours out year round and just put different sensory items inside like water beads, rice, or beans. During summer though, water and sand rule! This is the perfect way to spend a hot afternoon without a pool or wasting a ton of water on the sprinklers.

DKnight MagicBox II Bluetooth 4.0 Portable Wireless speaker– In summer we are outside all the time.  We love to jam out to our favorite tunes while we play, cook and eat. This box, which is tiny and very affordable, is a convenient and practical way for our family to enjoy music outside and inside. For its small stature, it really packs a punch. I was amazed by its sound capabilities. I also love it because if you sync it through your Smartphone’s Bluetooth you can take a phone call from the speakerphone.

  1. […] 4. I wasn’t wearing a bathing suit and definitely wished I was. The crowd was about 50/50 in swimsuits for the adults and 100% for the kids. Don’t forget a swim diaper, but if you do, they have them for purchase. My daughter and I were both wearing our waterproof Native shoes, and they were perfect! Check out our review of these amazing shoes and other must have summer products here. […]
