When I travel to the UK to visit my husband’s family I am amazed by how many indoor “soft plays” there are. Due to the cold and rainy weather for the majority of the year, there are a ton of options for inside playgrounds. One of the thoughts I always have is why doesn’t Texas have more? I mean, I know it’s not super cold or rainy all year but COME ON- it’s like 100 degrees from May-October. I think we deserve a few more options to let our little ones “shake the sillies out” that are indoors. Friends, add The Park at the Fellowship of the Parks Keller Church to your list.
The bummer is it’s only open Monday and Wednesdays from 9-2 PM (during the school year). With naps and busy schedules that may limit you, but if you happen to need an activity during those hours, this place is definitely worth your time. The enclosed playground contains one large playscape that has two sets of slides. One slide is VERY high and thankfully requires strength and height to climb up to steer away kiddos who probably aren’t ready to go down the massive, windy tunnel. The other side has two side-by-side slides that have a mid slide hump. This playground is recommended for ages 5-12 but my three- year-old enjoys it. Obviously monitor your kid(s) closely and know their limitations and capabilities.
What I love about this playscape, besides that it is enclosed and inside, is that there are no openings once the kids are in there. I have a fear that my kids will fall off a tall playground with an opening so it makes this Mama one happy camper to know there is no way they will fall out once they’re up there. Just one less thing to worry about, especially if you have more than one kid with you.
