Parr Park

What? Parr Park

Where? 3100 Parr Lane, Grapevine, Texas

Cost? Free!

Even though school has started and a glorious cold front has invaded, we aren’t fooled, summer-like weather is still here in North Texas. That means you still have time to enjoy fun in the sun. Parr Park, which is tucked away in an adorable neighborhood near the Colleyville/Grapevine border, is one of my favorites in the area.

The park is large and while not enclosed, feels safe as it is not on a busy road and is quite large. There is a shaded pavilion with restrooms (YES!) close to the ample parking lot. The park has different areas based on age and capabilities. I love that the baby/toddler area is actually fairly large and includes more than one climbing area and slide. The fire truck play structure was a huge hit with my son! The “bigger kids” area includes a slide, climbing frames, toadstools and a giant rope climber. The park also has swings, a spray park, NEOS 360, picnic tables, soccer fields, walking trails and my favorite, ample trees for some much needed shade.

During the summer months, make sure you are prepared to get wet as the spray area is very popular with the kids. We didn’t wear a bathing suit last time we went and ended up playing in the water in our clothes. Luckily this former Girl Scout always has an extra change of clothes and towel in the car!

I can’t say enough good things about this lovely park. It will provide hours of entertainment for your family. Bring a stroller or bike and enjoy the shaded walking trails for a little exercise too. My toddler loves riding around on his Radio Flyer Bike. It’s perfect for an independent kid who can’t make it more than 100 feet on a bike ride before they ask you to push them.
